Please remember the outing to The Crane Sanctuary in October. The crane sanctuary is self funded and runs courses for schools, colleges etc in order to raise monies needed for the running of the place. They rehabilitate and release cranes as well as doing artificial insemination in order to increase the population. They have run out of space and need to expand their holding areas/pens. We need loads of sponsorship to help out with the rehabilitation of these beautiful and endangered birds. Anyone who can help with supplying:

• Old Eskom type poles
• Fencing (chicken mesh)
• Shade cloth
• Bird netting
• Cement
• Pvc piping etc

Please see below for the proposed pens. If you could help supply any of the materials it would be a great help. This will be a great way to get exposure for the club and the weekend will be covered by the local paper, so please guys, contribute where you can.

It is a camping weekend, there are dormitories available for those who don’t want to camp. Hot showers, etc. We will be helping them with the crane pens on Saturday and then go for sundowners at the “vulture’s restaurant” on the top of the mountain (spectacular view over the berg). Sunday is spent playing; there are 4x4 trails.

Regional 4 X 4 Challenge 2010

Jacques has started a new page this year on the website to keep friends and members aware of the new Regional Challenge series.  You will find this just under the Motorsport block.  In addition to the above, the Club is now also offering a "Country Membership". 

The success of this competition, the publicity and the funds it will generate for the Club does not only rest with the Committee.  Each and every member is urged to go out there and promote this event during the course of the year.  Invite friends and family to join us providing they comply with the rules and regulations that appear on the webpage.  Remember, they need not compete and are more than welcome as spectators. 

I will appreciate any help I can get from the membership out there.  There are obstacle sponsorships available for companies wishing to advertise their products.  Please ask them to get in touch with Kevin for more detail.
