Shu Shu – 6 to 9 August 2016

Directions: turn off the Stanger Greytown road to Kranskop. Head through Kranskop and wind your way down into the valley. Approximately 20 meters before the bridge that crosses the Tugela river is a dirt road to the left. Follow this road for about 5km to the hot springs. Just ask the locals if you are not sure of the way, they all know where Shu Shu is. Co-ordinates…….28°51’38.79”s 31°00’40.74”e.
What to bring: everything…….this is proper bush camping. Eg. No electricity (for your hair dryer) no toilets (bring a spade) no drinking water (bring beer and plenty of old brown) fire wood. (it gets blerry cold)
What to do: sit and chill in the hot springs (bring your soap and wash while you chill) nice outdrives (huge sycamore fig tree not to be missed) have tea with our esteemed president (Nkandla is just up the road…..lets go see what a r 250 million estate looks like.) Explore the island (every year for the last 100 years or so, hundreds of people camp here in July. Camp sites are kept in the family and handed down from one generation to the next.)
