Toti Waterfall – Trip Report – July 2015 Club Outing
Big ups to those who gathered on a cold wet winter’s morning for the Toti falls outing. In total there were 15 vehicles that attended.
09:00 arrived and we departed eager to see what lay ahead as there was a lot of rain the previous day. While going through the local township the roads had a lot of water indicating we were in for some mud!!
Off the tarmac and onto the dirt we encountered an old church a good place to say your last prayers before……..
First bit of serious off-roading went off pretty well, only a few seats got chewed up and needed some reupholstering. The sky started to clear and the sun started to show its face. Then some pretty scenic views of the valley and river which were breathtaking and relaxing for those who were on edge from previous experiences.
Eventually we came across some of that mud which we were so waiting for so a few of us decided to splash out and get a little dirty.
After a few more river crossings we came across a play area where we could practice some articulation and hill climbing .At the top we decided to all pose in voortreker style for a group photo.
Then it was off to the braai spot as our stomachs were starting to digest themselves.
While the fires were being lit some of us dared to try a quite slippery and muddy hill which was enjoyed by all who attempted it. Bellys full and eyes wanting to close we proceeded to the waterfall before we all needed to find a tree to sleep under.
We eventually arrived at the waterfall, it wasn’t flowing at full potential but was pretty impressive and wouldn’t want to fall down there it was pretty high and only a few dared to go to the edge too look down.
A huge thanks to all who attended it was a pretty awesome day despite the prior day’s weather.
